Biden Who?

Sarah Palin seems to be driving the media coverage in the campaign now, with Obama and McCain taking a backseat, and Biden seeming to have fallen off the face of the earth. This is bad news for the Obama campaign. The attention focused on Palin, most of it stupidly negative, hurts Obama as it alienates voters, and diminishes him. It’s unprecedented for the Presidential candidate on one side to focus his attacks on the VP candidate on the other, and only highlights his inexperience in comparison to the other sides Presidential candidate. To his credit, he has announced that he will focus his attacks on McCain instead. It’s not going to work, though, because his friends in the media will keep attacking her, thus keeping the spotlight directly where Obama doesn’t want it. They see her as a threat, and that’s the only way they know how to deal with threats.
